What I'm Great At
I love sketching & whiteboarding ideas and collaborating with team members on options to solve a problem. I value team input because it really helps strengthen the results to hear different points of view and perspectives I may not have thought of. I organize information through activities like card sorting and storymapping.
Discovery
I ask a lot of questions before I design anything. I really seek to deeply understand the needs of my user group.
I strive for a high level of empathy for the human that will be using and interacting with the things I design.
Information Architecture
I'm a big advocate for presenting the right information to the right person at the right time. This means gaining a deep understanding of user processes and hierarchy needs and organizing it in a way that is not overwhelming, wasteful, or confusing.
Journey Mapping
I’m very visual so I like to map out user journeys and flow charts so I can speak confidently about my user groups, their pain points, and the solutions I present to stakeholders.
Data Visualization
One of my strong suits is taking complex, data-heavy interfaces or workflows and turning them into easily digestible, pleasant experiences where actions and next steps are clear and make sense to the user.
Iteration
Idea generation and iteration is my favorite part of the design process. This is when I get most excited about the possibilities and vision for the product or page.
Prototyping
I love seeing my designs come to life and seeing how people respond to the interactions I set up. It's really valuable to me to watch as users click through my prototypes. I also find them helpful for dev handoff.

Because of my sales & leadership background I'm able to communicate effectively with many types of PM's and business stakeholders. This has allowed me to build collaborative relationships among my teams and lead from the front confidently while remaining inclusive and diplomatic.
I listen to all viewpoints no matter who they come from and I'm able to explain complex concepts to almost any audience through thoughtful storytelling and visualization.

Some of my faves
Figma is my preferred collaborative design & prototyping tool, but I've also used Sketch & Adobe XD for design comps, InVision for prototyping, and some Adobe Creative Suite programs like Photoshop (and sometimes Illustrator & InDesign) in my design process. I like incorporating a collaborative whiteboarding tool such as Miro and sketching ideas on my iPad using Mockup or good old pen and paper.
I typically use Atlassian Systems including Jira and Confluence for documentation, sprint management, kanban boards, and backlog tasks. I'm accustomed to the Google Material Design System as a guide, and I follow the ADA Standards for Accessible Design.
